Tomatin Year of the Horse 2026 limited edition single cask single malt whisky bottle with Lunar New Year red artwork

Tomatin has welcomed the Lunar New Year with the launch of Tomatin Year of the Horse 2026, a highly limited single cask single malt. Created to celebrate the Year of the Horse, this exclusive release reflects the brand’s respect for Lunar New Year traditions while showcasing the refined elegance of Tomatin’s Highland spirit.

A Rare 2011 Vintage from a Single Cask

This special edition is a 2011 vintage single malt, drawn from one exceptional cask. The whisky was matured exclusively in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butt, making it a rare and carefully curated expression designed for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Pedro Ximénez ‘Bota Gorda’ from Jerez

The cask used for this release is a bota gorda—larger than a traditional sherry butt—sourced directly from a historic bodega in Jerez, southern Spain. Having spent time in a sherry solera, the Pedro Ximénez cask brings deep richness, indulgent sweetness, and a strong sense of heritage and provenance to the whisky.

Rich, Refined and Unmistakably Tomatin

While the PX cask adds luxurious depth, its generous size allows Tomatin’s elegant fruit-forward Highland character to remain at the forefront. The result is a beautifully balanced single malt—rich yet refined, expressive yet distinctly Tomatin.

Bottled in Its Purest Form

Tomatin Year of the Horse 2026 is bottled at natural colour and non-chill filtered, preserving the whisky’s full flavour and authenticity. It is presented in Tomatin’s signature bottle, enhanced with ornate red artwork created exclusively for this Lunar New Year release, symbolising prosperity, strength, and celebration.

A Collector’s Toast to the Lunar New Year

With its rare single cask origin, exceptional maturation, and festive presentation, Tomatin Year of the Horse 2026 stands out as both a celebratory release and a coveted collector’s whisky—perfectly timed to welcome the Lunar New Year in style.
